Bangkok & Pattaya, Thailand
(I'm going to type a lot so I think you should either skip this post or just scroll down and look at the pictures if you really want to know how I spent the past five days.)
Day 1 (Sunday): Uncle Edwin came to fetch us to the airport, where we looked for the tour agency and then had dinner at Burger King. Coincidentally, my father's mother's brother's wife's sisters and their daughters (something like that) were going on the same tour as us. We checked in damn early and had to wait for some while. During the spot check the Malay security guard was telling me that I looked like I had no energy -.- A lot of people told me that before, hahaha I look like I'm going to die any time. Anyway, boarded the plane and then my sister and I didn't want plane dinner (the dinner smelled funny) so we rejected dinner served by the air stewardess. Mummy said that we should take budget airlines next time where they don't serve food, hahaha. Reached Bangkok airport and there was this really pretty Christmas tree outside :) The tour bus came and we went to The Twin Towers Hotel for the night, but I saw no twin towers. Emily and I slept on the same single bed 'cause we didn't want to sleep alone, hehehe. Our parents were just next door and there was a connecting door in between so it's good. Well, it shouldn't be called Day 1 since we only reached Bangkok at night. Okay, that was Night 1.
Day 2: Had to wake up super early for breakfast! And then our (Emily and I) room's heater had some problems so it was damn cold, in the morning some more!! Heh, breakfast was okay. The next best butter after Lurpak is probably Allowie, or however you spell you. Anyway, our tour guide's called Kitti and he's really humourous and warm :) He used this straw fan to lead us throughout the journey, on which he drew a Hello Kitty!! Hahaha, 'cause his name is Kitti -.- Anyhow, first we went to this temple, I don't know the name. When we all stepped into the gate, people came and took pictures of us with flash and for a moment I thought I was a diva! Uncle Kitti said that they take pictures of you and then they put it on badges and try to sell you when you leave of the temple, and he told us not to buy 'cause they sell it more than it's worth. There were just a few Buddhas and stuff at the temple, nothing fun. What's interesting is that there were machines to help you pick your lots, so high tech man! They will give you a number and then you collect papers with what the lot reads from the shelves. I thought you're supposed to keep shaking this wooden thing with sticks inside till one drops and then you bring it to some master to read the lot, haha. I guess my lot was a good one :) My sister got this bad lot so she put the paper back to the shelves, how self-consoling -.- Then when we were on the way out of the temple, the same few people who had earlier taken pictures of us were standing there waiting for us, looking at the badges on their trays and then our faces to match and then try to sell the badges to us. We didn't buy, of course. We all looked so ugly on the badges 'cause when they tried to take pictures of us we were all shocked and yeah, who would want to buy?
After visiting the temple, we went to some port and took a boat to this island where another temple, the Temple of Dawn, is. That temple was really pretty on the outside. Aiya we just looked around and got on the boat again back to land. On the way we passed a floating market, the fake one with only a few boats on the Chao Phraya River and the canals. Heh, the real one's supposed to be super crowded. Our boat stopped for a while for the floating sellers to show us the stuff they sell and then this auntie rowed her sampan close to ours and stretched out her hands to hold onto the side of the boat I thought she was going to climb up the boat la so scary! Hehehe, we didn't buy anything 'cause the little things she was selling were quite ugly -.- Then at this part of the river, a guy on the boat went round and sold us loaves of bread for us to throw into the river to feed the catfishes. The catfishes were really damn aggresive! They will fight for the piece of bread you throw in and within a few seconds the bread would be gone! People don't eat them even though they're so fat 'cause they're holy or something.
We reached the port and the bus came to fetch us to Sriracha Tiger Zoo. The tigers and pigs seem to get along pretty well at that zoo! Cubs were fed by sow and piglets were fed by tigeress. Emily and I took a picture with a tiger cub, it was so heavy la! I didn't really get to caress it 'cause I had to hold the milk bottle and the person there put my other hand around my sister's shoulder, pui so I didn't get to feel it's fur much. Anyway, although the zoo's called a Tiger Zoo, there were other animals there too. We went to watch a crocodile show, the male performer tried to get a grumpy crocodile up to the platform but it wouldn't budge and nearly wanted to chew on the performer so he decided not to provoke him. The show wasn't that cool, quite boring. After the crocodile show we rushed to another performance by the tigers, doing stunts and stuff. And after the tiger show we went to watch pig calculating and racing -.- Hahaha, the pigs only know 1-6 I think. I guess there is a reason why they're called pigs. Anyway, the pig racing was damn stupid, they lifted the barrier and released the pigs and they all ran to the other end. Urgh, disgusting. The zoo has got lots of reasons for you to pay money and take pictures, like with the chimpanzee, deer and Scorpion Queen. Yeah, after visiting the zoo we set out for Pattaya and checked in at All Seasons Hotel to rest and then we went out again for dinner at a restaurant. The food was so-so, probably 'cause I lost my appetite. There was this family from China in my tour group, and the mother has got lots of vegetation at her armpits and she always wore sleeveless tops. She sat opposite me during dinner. Whenever she reached out for food and flashed her vegetation I totally didn't feel like eating la, oh my god!!! We saw lots of fruit stalls outside the restaurant, the fruit sellers there face hell lot of competition man! All the fruit stalls sell the same variety of fruits, and what's more, Emily said that they even position their fruits in the same way. That cracked me up hahaha.
After dinner, those who wanted to go for massage went for their massages, and those who wanted to go watch Spiderman went for the show. Spiderman's porno I think, a couple went and the auntie said it was quite good 'cause the women went around the audience naked, hahaha horny! That auntie's a nurse and she said she went to my school for health check-up this year, haha. By the way, the rest of us were dropped at a shopping mall, Tesco Lotus or something. There weren't much to shop, we just got Dunkin' Donuts and a few bracelets. Dunkin' Donuts are damn tasty! Yeah, after an hour or so the bus came to fetch us all back to our hotel.
Day 3: It was the worst day of the tour, I stoned while everyone else had exciting stuff to do. And I got an estimated 20 cm cut on my left thigh. Took a speed boat to this floating platform and lots of people went to do parasailing except me and a few others. I was scared of the sea, what the fuck man. And then after that took the speed boat to Coral Island, I sat at the rear and the sea was all choppy so the boat rocked like crap it was as if a rollercoaster ride. The rest went on banana boats and motorboats while I stayed on land watching them 'cause I can't swim. Then we sat on a boat and were rowed out to sea to look at corals underneath but couldn't really see any 'cause there was high tide. Back to land, where I cut my leg against don't know what on the speed boat when I got off and bled like hell. Uncle Kitti and another woman helped me clean and bandage my wound, I appreciate that a lot :) It was very pain I tell you when they used alcohol to clean the wound, but I didn't scream nor cry so I am a brave girl. I think Uncle Kitti felt bad 'cause I injured myself, he gave me ice-cream after lunch. Special treatment -.- And he wanted to pay half the price of the ticket for the Alcazar Show. Actually there was no one to blame for my injury la, I don't even know how I could have injured myself also.
We went back to the hotel for a shower and then left for Nong Nooch Village. On the way to our destination, we learnt how to sing two Thai songs, Loi Krathong and Chang. Hahaha, I've learnt Loi Krathong during Music before :) But Mummy, Emily and I didn't get down the bus when we reached because Emily got a splint in her feet from Coral Island and couldn't walk without feeling pain, so Mummy decided to accompany her and I didn't want to go with my father only so. Spent the time trying to get the splint out of Emily's feet and we missed the cultural show at the village. When the rest came back, we went for dinner. Again, China mother sat right opposite me and made me lose appetite, and the way she ate the fish was -.- There was nothing left of the fish but bones, the poor fish probably owed her in its previous life.
Then after dinner we were put at this shopping mall I forgot its name, and after an hour we went to watch the Alcazar Show, which should just be named Agua Show and be more straightfoward. On the whole it was quite okay. The songs they perform are quite cool though they lip-sang them. I don't understand why some men want to become women when they look so manly, gross. But some are really pretty, and the costumes they wear were no doubt gorgeous. The bus came after the show to fetch us back to the hotel after the show.
Day 4: Our first destination was Dream World, it's a really cute place. The benches to sit on are all very interesting. Took a cable car to the other end of the theme park and then had lunch there, sucked big time so didn't eat much. Hehehe, first we went to this Haunted Mansion, which was freakin' scary la! Mummy's the best man, she led us all throughout the Haunted Mansion. I guess it was scary because I thought that there would be people inside disguised as ghosts to scare us and it kept me anticipating but actually there weren't ghosts who would come out of nowhere and touch you or whatever. Next was Viking, it was thrilling. My last time on Viking was long enough to forget, and Escape Theme Park's one wasn't as good as this one. After that the rest of the younger ones went to play Bumper Cars except me 'cause I don't like bumping. Then the younger ones + older ones together took the Space Mountain ride, which is similar to Escape Theme Park's Panasonic Alpha 8 thing, but scarier! We took the Hanging Rollercoaster twice 'cause nobody was queueing for it and then later the whatever-you-call-it, it just kept spinning real vigorously until someone vomitted la. I was a little giddy after sitting in the spinning disc thing so I decided not to take the Magic Carpet. Instead, I went duck fishing with Mummy and won myself a strawberry keychain, ha ha ha. There was this really cute jumbo Rhinoceros I wanted so badly but Mummy and I couldn't lift the bottle by using this ring attached to a string to a rod. Pui, then some went for Go-kart and then it was time to go, we were given so little time to take the rides. I got a coconut outside Dream World. The strange thing about Thailand is that they don't give spoons when they sell coconuts. So I spent almost half an hour during the bus ride digging the coconut meat with a freakin' straw!!
After a long bus ride, we reached Bangkok again, had dinner, and went to look at Four Faced Buddha. Mummy, Emily and I spent the time the rest spent on looking at Four Faced Buddha on McDonald's though, hahaha. There was a major traffic jam so the bus which was supposed to come and fetch us came later. Anyway, the bus fetched us to The Twin Towers Hotel and we checked in again and left quickly for Suan Lum Night Bazaar for shopping! Suan Lum Night Bazaar is like Singapore's Bugis street but just so much bigger! They sell lots and lots of stuff and we walked till we became flat-footed la! Tired from all the walking, Mummy, Emily and I sat on the Ferris Wheel to rest and saw the whole of Suan Lum Night Bazaar, which is so humongous. The night view wasn't all nice though. The whole bazaar was impossible for us to finish walking in one hour so we missed the bus back to the hotel and took a Taxi back to the hotel later at night. The taxi-drivers and tuk tuk-drivers gave absurd prices for a stone's throw distance. So we only hopped on the taxi which gave us a reasonable fare, we eventually gave them tips for being kind.
Day 5: It was our Free & Easy day and we woke up at almost 10A.M., which was relatively late because most of the people from our tour group woke up at 7+ and rushed out to shop. We were damn tired from having to wake up at 6/7 in the morning for the past three days. We took a taxi from the hotel to Mah Boon Kong, MBK Centre for brunch at this Fuji Japanese Restaurant. We had a really filling brunch and started shopping around, bought quite a lot of clothes and had a great time bargaining man, so fun! Totally unlike when Elyssa and I went to Bugis Street, 10 cents also cannot bargain ah! The clothes there are usually less than S$10 so it's woah! But I just felt that I didn't buy enough, I only spent half of the 3000 Baht Mummy gave me :( I really want to go back to Thailand again, next time to Chiang Mai, heard that everything's cheap there. And I hope it will be with my cousins, I bet it would be seriously fun la!
Back to shopping, um we kept getting tired from all the walking so every now and then we stopped at McDonald's to rest. After MBK Centre, we walked to Siam Centre, Siam Square, and back to MBK Centre. I got myself new shoes and they're really cool, something like my current blue one so hip hip hooray! We didn't go to Siam Paragon 'cause they've got all branded shit there and we're not even interested, we're not that rich either :) It was just a whole day of walking and shopping, and then at night we wanted to go back to the hotel and put our stuff before going to Suan Lum Night Bazaar again, but when we tried to get a Taxi, this tuk tuk driver approached us and then he offered 300 Baht for a ride back to the hotel. Stupid tuk tuk-driver, even our tourguide said that it shouldn't cost more than 60 Baht for a Taxi back to our hotel. Tuk tuks have no air-conditioner, no comfy seats, no spacious seats, still want to charge 300 Baht, pui la! Then, the weird part, this green T-shirt guy came and so kindly told us to get a cab from the other exit of the shopping centre, then he also told us there was this Thai Local Product place near our hotel and that everything there was at 30% discount. Yeah, sounded like a scam that time. But anyway, my parents thanked him for his advice and then we went to the other exit to look for taxi, but we couldn't even find the 'other exit'. AND then, this guy out of nowhere came and said to us, 'I see you again!' with a strong Thai accent. Oh my god so drama man, he told us that he worked as a security guard at our hotel (I sound like I own it) and he saw us before, yeah. So to make sure the green T-shirt guy wasn't a conman, we decided to ask him about the Thai Local Product place, and then he said we were very lucky because they were having 30% discount off everything and that day was 'the last day', then he told us to go there faster 'cause it closed at 8P.M. We told him that another guy told us to get Taxi from 'the other exit', but he insisted that we should get Taxi from the exit we just came from. Uh, then he offered to help us get a cab to Thai Local Product place, he spoke Thai to this taxi-driver and then we got on the taxi, the taxi-driver said he didn't know how to go to our hotel (later we knew that Thai Local Product place was a less than one-minute walk from our hotel)?! And then he refused to fetch us!! Haa whatever so we got on another tax and the security guard guy came and asked us why why why then he told him what what what and said that we wanted to go back to the hotel first to put the stuff we just bought, yeah so we said bye-bye.
We went back the hotel to put our stuff and then left the hotel again, I told my family to bring some weapons there in case it all turned out to be a scam and the robbers come and kidnap us and all, we would be able to fight them. My sister suggested that we bring the hotel's hair dryer. Heh, we walked out of the hotel and our senses told us that it was on the right side so we walked right and we found the Thai Local Product place. But it was closed. The guards there told us that it closed at 7P.M and that that day's not the last day of the 30% discount rubbish so we decided to go back next morning. We went to Suan Lum Night Bazaar instead! Whopee, did another round of shopping and I saw this shop with all the cute shirts, including my Aberzombie shirt!! It was around S$6 and I bought it in Singapore for $19.90?!?!?! Urgh, quick money. Went home after walking probably 85% of the whole night bazaar. The leftover 15% is all furniture and we won't buy them anyway so.
Day 6: Last day in Thailand. After breakfast we went to the Thai Local Product place and we saw nothing nice nor cheap. But they do have a whole lot of jewellery but they're damn expensive. Mummy got this pair of earrings at more than 50% discount so I'm happy for Mummy 'cause for the past few days she only bought stuff for people and not herself. After that we didn't go anywhere else, went back to the hotel and waited till noon and the bus came to fetch us to the airport. Watched Disney Channel and MTV in room, aaaah to think of it, we were wasting overseas time!! -.- I know what's Time = Money man. Then we were waiting in the lobby and we saw people return from their shopping trips! Hahaha, they sure knew how to make use of their time fully. We could have shopped more too! But whatever :)
So we were dropped at the airport and Uncle Kitti left us there. He told me to get well soon :) Well, he had been a really good tourguide! The family and father's ..'s ..'s... had lunch together and then boarded the plane. It felt so good to be back home in Singapore! Uncle Edwin came to fetch us home so thank you Uncle Edwin! The computer got a little mute I don't know why, probably 'cause of negligence ha ha ha. Now it is okay, it's producing sounds. To sum it all up, this trip was really enjoyable, and memorable (because of the 20 cm scar I'm going to have). Please tell me if you really read this whole entry word by word.
And now, the pictures.
Just a few out of 1000 plus photos.

With much love.
